Slope Stability Assessments | Coastal Site Batemans Bay

Fortify Geotech recently carried out geotechnical work at a small coastal site near Batemans Bay, New South Wales. This picturesque beachside location has undergone significant change since a shallow translational landslide in 2022 reshaped the steep slope backing the beach and impacted several residential properties.

Our team returned to the site near Batemans Bay to assess the effectiveness of various slope stabilisation methods implemented by neighbouring homeowners. The project offers a fascinating comparison of three distinct engineering solutions: shotcrete, wire mesh with rock and soil nails, and gabion walls. Each approach presents its own balance between structural integrity and visual impact, especially in a sensitive coastal setting.

At Fortify, we provide comprehensive geotechnical investigations to support safe, stable construction on steep and landslide-prone sites. This project reflects our ongoing commitment to helping clients build with confidence in complex environments.
