Temporary Shotcrete Soil Nail Wall | Sydney CBD
Fortify Geotech recently partnered with Shotcrete Australia to deliver the design and construction of a temporary shotcrete soil nail wall in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. Despite the project’s modest size, the site posed a significant geotechnical challenge due to its tight geometry and existing structural constraints.
Our task was to install soil nails with absolute precision between multiple rows of pre-stressed ground anchors each at varying inclinations and carefully navigate around underpinning piles supporting a heritage-listed building. With no room for error, this was a textbook case of high-stakes geotechnical problem-solving.
Thanks to close collaboration between Fortify’s design team and Shotcrete Australia’s specialist contractors, we delivered a safe, reliable, and elegant solution that met the site’s demanding requirements both on paper and on the ground.
This project highlights Fortify’s ability to tackle complex geotechnical works in dense urban environments, where precision and coordination are key.
