Geotechnical Investigations | Yarrangobilly Caves

Fortify Geotech recently carried out geotechnical investigations at the Yarrangobilly Caves precinct in Kosciuszko National Park, New South Wales. Known for its striking limestone caves and year-round thermal pool, the site provided a truly memorable setting for fieldwork.

Our engineering geologist, Olga Baruleva, led the investigations in this spectacular part of the Snowy Mountains. Subsurface conditions varied across the site, ranging from shallow high-energy alluvium to deep colluvial soils overlying Silurian sedimentary bedrock. The geological diversity of the area highlights the complexity involved in working in such a unique natural environment.

This project supports future planning and development of park facilities, helping to ensure that infrastructure is built on a solid understanding of the local ground conditions. We are proud to contribute our expertise to a site of such natural, cultural and environmental significance.
